Dont most fords have forward motion issues 😂🤣👍🙀
Awesome Mustang, some new carpet would really set that interior off. The fold down rear seat brings back memories of camping out in one as a youngster. Very sorry to hear about your Mom.
Cn you do an assembly video on an older unit like a C4, powerglide or Turbo 350 ? That would be very interesting to watch
Engineers are never apologetic to mechanics for their designs.🙈🙉🙊
They an old trans now, parts be getting light on the ground.
Takes me back to the good old days. Again I Love your content. Keep up the good work ❤❤😊
Fluid leaking through the Vacuum hose through the modulator control and a busted speedo gear. Already been out at least once. Only 77000?
Richard makes all this transmission rebuilding look easy!!!!!!!!!!
I had a 1964 Farlane 500 Wagon (Inherited from my parents) 289 and C-4 they had it rebuilt and it went out again. never ran rightafter that the Traz shop said the wagon was to big for the Tranz. I never bought that. My parents bought it new and only rebuilt the tranz once two years before I got it. it didn't make since to me 14 year after the car was bought new trans rebuilt I got the car in 1976 and it went out about two months after I got it. lost $500 on that car. love it.
I rebuilt a C4 for a friend of my dad and it last two weeks, because the wife totaled the car.
Prayers o the family and Mom. We used to think the C4 was a bit weak, but compared to a lot of what has happened since then it sure looks a lot better.
Who can't help but admire the transmission knowledge that you possess. Not to mention all the tricks you have learned that are not in any books. Best wishes to your mother, hope she has a swift and complete recovery. I went thru a similar situation with my 94 year old father. I need some advice. I have a 71 Cutlass with a TH400. It's not exhibiting any problems, but I think it's time for a filter change. What type of gasket do you recommend ? Keep up the good work, see you in the next video. BTW, your camera person does a great job!
Thank you very much
Pretty enjoyable watching an expert work his craft. Thank you!
start off with 6 or 8 I put a c4 in my 63 xke jag olds flexplate to space out to the starter then ford 6 and converter, shelby valve body bought from Art Carr. Early jag non synchro low the faster you went the longer to shift. kept loosing clutches, had to pull the front end and engine to change and wife did not like stik anywy. worked good
🙏for Mom 🙏🙏🙏and Family 👍
Can you help me with a 96 ford aerostar automatic 5-speed?
Yes I have changed fluid and filter on one back in the 80's and no problem with it. Got involved with a FMX transmission and what a nightmare. So the neighborhood kids decided to set the '74 Torino on fire 🔥 so I didn't have to deal with it anymore 😂.
Great video enjoy seeing the tear downs and finding the issues!
I love the c4 and c6 easy simple and effective transmissions. Isn’t there a filter in the valve body in the supply hole. Great bracket race transmissions imo. Great to see you got a c4 in keep it up love your videos.
Hi to both of you. Another cracking video, good to see you back in action, simply the best!
76 or 67 ?
is the spline count the same at both ends of the out put shaft? I think they are but can't remember any more.. How is your shoulder doing.. I am looking at the same situation.. but I have left it so long they both need work.. as always great show.. you should be a teacher.. if I was running and Auto class your vid's would be mandatory material.. thanks Rich.. you make the old days come alive again..
No sir, they’re different count
This one was actually 26th spine going into the converter and different count on going in the forward drum
@@richardteresacricheducatio3542 It has been so long.. I was of the old hot rod 50-70's fan group.. refreshing and rebuilding all I could get.. until I had to make up my mind if I wanted to be a mechanic or a carpenter.. Being a carpenter won out.. I final had to quit cars all together when I reached 69 because of my shot body the pain wasn't worth the fun any more.. thanks guys for all you do.. I truly love this show of yours.. it brings back memories of some of the good times in my life.. Carry on!
I absolutely adore this channel, the family and I obviously cannot forget tje beautiful Miss Annie! This particular tear down and build I find especially fascinating. It is giving me a bit of an inside as to what tje C6 auto to my 66 bird. I continue to learn with each video... THANK YOU!🙏💜
76? 67? oh we'll...
I can put you a ductless mini split in that garage and keep you cool. You buy it and I'll install it.
Richard is,a wealth of knowledge. Actual transmission rebuilders are getting more rare. Kind of like raidiator shops.
Thank you for the great videos! Learn something new every time.
Glad to hear that
I heard about one old Transmission Mechanic, who had an odd way to unstick Ford governors. He would drive the vehicle up to about 40 mph, then try to engage Park, the rattling would dislodge any crud in the governor. Me, I would never try that!
We're we can get this books and these books have also new model transmission and valve body data
Someone has been in there , being a 70+ type. Definitely not a 67 Some one already removed the servo release checkball Shift lever fitted on wrong also Awesome tip on testing sealing rings
Thank you bud
Great video for us Ford guys. I would love to see you build one of these all out, like trans brake, aftermarket planetary’s killer everything. Might have to add it to the list I some day will have to drop off to you on my way to Kansas from Phoenix 😜
Smells like money !!!
I've experienced those vacuum modulators failing with huge huge clouds of smoke from burning transmission fluid also there's no way that thing only has 77000 miles... lol
After watching many of your teardowns on the chryslers and ford's, I've always found it interesting how similar they were
a mad scientist !!!!!
Ain't no doubt 💯. Teresa could rebuild a transmission ❤
Alway a pleasure to watch you guys work. Awsome to see an old Mustang brought back!!!
Richard, would you do a video on how to r&r bushings?
I have plenty of time to watch videos, I'm retired lol. Good to see another video...starting to have withdrawls lol.
Title says 1976, that is a 1967
Been a while since I've been inside a C4. Cool little trans indeed. Best wishes for your mom. Thanks for the video.
Hmmm. looks like a bit like an A4LD precursor. Was it built in France? I don't know where the C4s were actually built but their carry-ons were French. I'm too young at 55(LOL) to know the history of the C4. But I do know the A4LD. Was it Livonia? Doubt it but not sure. Where were those things made? Ford based the E4OD on the center support bearing(the tiny, little, insufficient bushing in the output shaft on the A4LD. Did it work? Nope! It is so much fun to see the originals and know how things evolved for better or worse. Ford borrowed way too much from the old to make the new. Respect to the old and regret that they based the new on it. 25 Year retrospect. :)
I think the C3 was made in France. It was an odd small automatic transmission.
Hi Richard and Teresa, good to see you're "back at it". hope the healing goes well._Dino
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you... for sharing a life's time of hard earned knowledge. P.S. I love the way you dote on Theresa. You are truly a good man.
